Model History
Launched in 2014, the BMW 2-Series Coupe & Convertible served as the direct successors to the BMW 1-Series Coupe and Convertible, as both of these models based on BMW’s entry-level hatchback model were spun off into their own model line. The F22 was 72 mm longer, 26 mm wider, and 5 mm lower than the preceding 1-Series model, as well as featuring perfect 50:50 weight distribution. Powertrains included a range of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines, as well as a twin-turbocharged inline-six tuned by BMW’s M Division, reserved for the F87 M2 coupe that utilised the F22 platform.
