Model History

Serving as Porsche’s entry-level SUV/crossover model placed below the Cayenne, the Macan offers all of the typical features expected of a modern Porsche model in a luxurious, compact SUV package. Whereas the Porsche Cayenne offers a more comfort-focused driving feel, the Macan – being lighter and shorter, aims to be the sportier SUV of the two. Based on the chassis shared with the Audi Q5, the Macan differs from its Audi sibling with a unique engine, transfer case, suspension setup, interior, and exterior details. Engines range from a 2.0 turbocharged four-cylinder engine up to a 3.0L turbocharged V6 unit – all paired to Porsche’s 7-Speed PDK (Doppelkupplungsgetriebe) dual-clutch transmission. Other classic Porsche features that make their way into the Macan include a front fascia reminiscent of the 911 sports car as well as a dashboard reminiscent of its 911 siblings equipped with Sport Chrono.

History File

This is a 2015 Porsche Macan S, finished in Dark Blue Metallic with a Black interior. This car was imported and sold new as an official Jebsen (Porsche Hong Kong) car. The current owner acquired this Macan S directly from the previous owner. Since new, it has remained in full stock condition with no changes done to the exterior, interior, or running gear. While the original Porsche service book has not been kept with this car, all of the service invoices detailing the maintenance work this car received from Porsche Service Centre Hong Kong as well as various local Hong Kong garages have been kept on record. Under the current owner, a new windscreen was installed (with a Porsche OEM unit), both front tyres were replaced, and a routine oil change was completed by Porsche Service Centre Hong Kong. Prior to taking ownership of this car, Porsche Service Centre Hong Kong also rectified minor stone chips on the bonnet, as well as some surface scratches on the body panels and performed a 111-point inspection for the current owner – an HKMI pre-purchase inspection was also performed and notes from both inspection are provided. The current owner highlights that this Macan S was originally high-specced from factory (with many optional extras added), but this example has omitted the panoramic sunroof. This Macan S has one previous owner, a current mileage of 81,289 km and the current road license is valid until 11th January, 2024.

Exterior

The Dark Blue Metallic is in excellent condition all around – none of the body panels carry any blemishes or imperfections to note of. Both front and rear bumpers – including the front grille inserts and surrounding trim are free of any damage. All four doors, the bonnet, and boot open and close without any difficulties – no corrosion was found on their hinges or latches & the rear tailgate’s power function operates normally. Both front and rear lights illuminate normally – all of their LED Daytime Running Lights) do not display any flickering. All of the exterior Porsche badges and emblems are intact. All four 20” RS Spyder Design alloy wheels are free of any kerb rash.

Interior and Trim

Look inside and a luxurious Porsche cabin greets the driver and passengers.  Both front and rear black leather seats are in excellent condition. All portions of the dashboard and the trim pieces do not display any major surface wear. All of the side door panels and door sill plates are free of any surface wear. The leather multi-functioning sports steering wheel is free of any signs of wear and all of its buttons work without any problems. The leather gear knob and transmission boot are also fully intact. All of the buttons that are linked to the Porsche Connect infotainment system and all of its functions work normally without any faults. The instrument cluster operates normally – the LCD display on the right and all of its menus function as they should. All of the interior switchgear and buttons show no surface wear and all operate their associated functions without issues.

Engine and Running Gear 

The 3.0L twin-turbocharged V6 engine comes to life as soon as it is switched on, with an energetic exhaust note audible to the ears. With the addition of the Sport Chrono, pressing the ‘Sport/Sport Plus’ buttons on the centre console and the exhaust opens up to allow this engine to sound more aggressive and potent, as well as adjust the throttle settings for a more spirited drive. As expected of a dual-clutch transmission, the 7-Speed PDK automatic transmission on this Macan S is quick to operate – gear changes happen instantly and all of the gears engage without any problems. The steering is direct and responsive – the adaptive dampers can be adjusted to allow for a firmer or more comfort-oriented drive. The brakes are very sharp to use and bring this crossover to a stop promptly.
